Dick Dallmer was among the early stars of the University of Cincinnati basketball program, as the first Bearcats player to earn All-America recognition.
Dallmer, who played at UC from 1948-50, passed away at age 92 on Wednesday. At the close of his UC tenure, Dallmer was No. 1 on the school's career scoring list with 1,098 points. Dallmer earned Associated Press honorable mention All-America honors in 1948 and 1949, and AP third team All-American honors in 1950.
According to his biographical information, Dallmer was born in Middletown, Ohio and grew up in Hamilton. Dallmer helped lead UC to three consecutive Mid-American Conference championships under coach John "Socko" Wiethe.
