Doc: Can you blame UC for saying no to U.S. Bank Arena?

And so a basketball team with CINCINNATI across its collective chest has chosen to play its home games in Kentucky. And so the CINCINNATI Bearcats for one winter will be the Bearcats of Highland Heights, home of Northern Kentucky University and its Norse.

BB&T Arena is a fine venue. Built in 2008, it has 9,400 seats, luxury boxes, party suites and good sightlines. But this is the University of Cincinnati basketball team we’re talking about, not Highland Heights A&M.

It shouldn’t be this way.

Not when there is a perfectly good arena on the Cincinnati side of the river.
