Dan Gavitt shoots down the idea for an all-inclusive NCAA Tournament field in 2021

The Atlantic Coast Conference men's basketball head coaches voted unanimously Wednesday to have an all-inclusive NCAA Tournament for the upcoming 2020-21 season, a move that would make all 346 eligible Division I teams earn a spot in the field.

But the NCAA responded Thursday shooting down that idea.

Dan Gavitt, NCAA Senior Vice President of Basketball, told reporter Andy Katz, "Every college basketball team's goal is to play in the NCAA Tournament because everyone loves March Madness.

"Certainly we missed it this year and can't wait for 2021. While all who care about the game are entitled to their opinion, and we'll always listen respectfully, at this time we are not working on any contingency plan that involves expanding the tournament field.
