BEREA — The Browns may have found future competition for running backs Kareem Hunt and D’Ernest Johnson in the fifth round of the NFL Draft on Saturday.
With the 156th overall pick, they selected University of Cincinnati running back Jerome Ford.
Standing 5-foot-11 and 220 pounds, Ford rushed for a career-high 1,319 yards (6.2 average) and 19 touchdowns last season — his first as a starter — and caught 21 passes for 220 yards and a touchdown.
In his career, the redshirt junior totaled 1,953 yards (6.1) and 30 touchdowns and pulled in 31 passes for 282 yards and a touchdown.
