Cincinnati Bearcats sophomore defensive lineman Blake Bacevich has been named to the watch list for the Wuerffel Trophy, which annually recognizes a player's community service.
The preseason watch list released Thursday features 114 FBS players, including Bacevich, who missed all of last season after suffering a leg injury.
Cincinnati defensive coordinator Marcus Freeman told The Enquirer that Bacevich, a Cincinnati native and graduate of St. Xavier High School, is scheduled to be ready for the start of the 2020 season.
"I'm not surprised one bit," Freeman said of Bacevich's appearance on the Wuerffel Trophy watch list.
