Cincinnati women's senior IImar'I Thomas scores record 51 points in 76-61 win at ECU

University of Cincinnati women's senior forward IImar'I Thomas on Wednesday became the first player in program history to score 50 points in a single game.

Thomas scored an American Athletic Conference single-game record 51 points on 20-of-27 shooting to lead the Bearcats to a 76-61 win at East Carolina.

"I'm just so proud of her," UC coach Michelle Clark-Heard said. "She had 20-something at halftime. I said, 'You gotta go for 50.' I just kept talking to her about it. Her teammates did a phenomenal job of getting her the basketball. She just kept playing."

Thomas also had 12 rebounds and shot 11-for-13 from the free throw line.
