Coming off just their second conference loss at Houston, the University of Cincinnati got back on the smiling side of the scoreboard with a 72-62 stoppage of Wichita State Sunday afternoon. The Bearcats have now won 24 consecutive American Athletic Conference games at Fifth Third Arena.

It was the first time in the renewal of the rivalry that the road team did not win.

Neither team shot particularly wel, with UC shooting just 34.5 percent to Wichita State’s 26.8. UC offset that by hitting 10-22 on 3-pointers, six of those from Jarron Cumberland who finished with a game-high 27 points.
