Cincinnati Bearcats quarterback Desmond Ridder's shoulder 'full go' for Birmingham Bowl

Desmond Ridder dropped back to the 50-yard line and threw a pass to the back corner of the end zone. During the University of Cincinnati’s football practice Saturday, the sophomore quarterback easily sailed the ball down the field, and the pass met wide receiver Malick Mbodj perfectly in stride in the back right corner.

For most of the last month, Ridder struggled making throws like this one.

Because he dealt with a lingering right shoulder injury that caused him to miss Cincinnati’s final regular season game, Ridder couldn’t throw down the field as well as usual during the American Athletic Conference championship game, completing just 16 of his 36 passes.
