UC's Clark, Evans recap win over East Carolina/ Tom Groeschen
The No. 12-ranked Cincinnati Bearcats are rolling and No. 7 Wichita State has hit a mini-slump. Suddenly, the UC basketball team has opened some distance between itself and the rest of the American Athletic Conference.
UC (17-2, 6-0 AAC) expectedly crushed East Carolina 86-60 on Saturday. Wichita State (15-4, 5-2) unexpectedly dropped its second consecutive game, 73-59 at Houston. Before that, the Shockers lost 83-78 at home to SMU this past Wednesday.
UC, a slight preseason favorite to win the AAC over Wichita, has opened a 1 1/2-game conference lead over both the Shockers and Houston.
