Cincinnati Bearcats gain series advantage with Victory Bell win against Miami RedHawks

There have been 19 United States presidents since the University of Cincinnati has had the series lead in the Bearcats rivalry with Miami University. Under blue skies at Paycor Stadium on Saturday, the Bearcats held off an upset-minded group of RedHawks from Oxford, 38-17.

Down 17-7 in the second quarter, UC scored 31 unanswered points to keep the fabled Victory Bell on their campus in the Lindner Center. They hadn't led the series since 1915 when Woodrow Wilson was in the White House.

"We had talked about that all week and we're really excited and proud," UC coach Luke Fickell said.
