Bearcats snap 5-game skid/ Tom Groeschen
They didn't give up, even when ESPN and most everyone else was telling them, "No."
The University of Cincinnati football team showed Saturday that its 2017 season is still very much alive. UC carried the burden of a five-game losing streak into Saturday's game at Tulane, when the ESPN FPI (Football Power Index) gave the Bearcats a scant 28.2 percent chance to win.
Make that 100 percent, as UC beat the Green Wave 17-16. The Bearcats overcame a season-high 12 penalties and had to hold their breath while Tulane missed a late 36-yard field goal attempt, but a win it was.
