The University of Cincinnati Bearcats men's basketball team is finalizing a home-and-home series with the Richmond Spiders, according to a report Monday by Jon Rothstein for collegehoopstoday.com.
Rothstein reports that the series would begin next season at Fifth Third Arena, with a return game at Richmond in 2021-22.
"Barring something unforeseen, this should be Chris Mooney’s best team since he led the Spiders to the Sweet 16 in 2011," Rothstein added.
The Bearcats routed the Spiders, 75-48, in the Cayman Islands Classic in November 2017. The last time Richmond visited Fifth Third Arena - in December 2001 - the Bearcats won 77-46 on their way to a 31-4 record.
