On Thursday night the Cincinnati Bearcats lost yet another heartbreaker in the final minutes to a top 25 team, this time to the 15th ranked SMU Mustangs.
It’s become a frustrating, almost weekly occurrence with this team. Despite the experience and talent amongst the players, they just can’t seem to close out opponents. Butler, now a top 25 team, Iowa State, and SMU were all lost by a combined six points. In two of those the Bearcats held a lead heading into the final media timeout with a little under four minutes left in the game. In the other, UC let an eight point lead deep into the second half slip away.
