The Cincinnati Bearcats, of the undefeated and Barclays Center Classic champion variety, have risen to 17th in both the AP and Coaches Polls, which were released this afternoon. UC was 24th in the polls last week.
Rising seven spots is due to two factors.
First, a slew of teams that ranked ahead of UC last week were knocked from the ranks of the unbeaten. Indiana (previously 13th in the AP Poll) lost to Wake Forest and UNLV. California (14th) lost to San Diego State and Richmond. Miami (FL) (15th) lost to Northeastern. Notre Dame (17th) lost to Monmouth and Alabama.
