The Cincinnati Bearcats lost their AAC opener 77-70 to the 5-5 Temple Owls at home, a game that was marred yet again by poor perimeter defense, the inability to hold onto a late lead, and just a general lack of leadership late in the game.
This isn’t the recap I was expecting to write. Far from it.
Temple isn’t a bad team, despite the 5-5 record. Like VCU, the Owls have played a murder’s row of a schedule that included #1 North Carolina, #22 Butler, #16 Utah, Wisconsin, and Saint Joseph’s, all losses. But their not exactly a great one, losing each of those by an average of 10 points.
