Cincinnati basketball's Prince Toyambi underwent a successful surgical procedure Monday to correct a cardiac issue, UC announced Tuesday.
The redshirt freshman forward's condition was recently discovered during the preseason.
“Prince is one of the most genuine young men I have come across in my over 20 years in coaching,” said Bearcats' coach John Brannen in a statement. “We are thrilled with his successful surgery and look forward to working with him through his recovery.”
A timetable for Toyambi's return to the court is not yet determined.
