Bearcats Football: UC Defense Holds Strong Against Prolific Offense In 49-38 Win Over Tulsa

Tommy Tuberville and his defensive coaches had likely been prepping their players about the high flying attack that is the Tulsa offense. Dane Evans had thrown for almost 3,000 yards and 17 touchdowns coming into this game with 6’4″, 221 lbs receiver, and potential NFL Draft pick, Keyarris Garrett catching passes for 996 yards this season.

The Golden Hurricane as a whole boast the 26th best scoring offense averaging over 36 yards per game. UC held them to 38 points tonight but 17 of Tulsa’s points were a direct result of Cincinnati’s turnovers. Had the offense been able to hold onto the ball and not force the defense to protect short fields, the numbers would have looked even better for them.
