TAMPA – It took a while, but the No. 18-ranked Cincinnati Bearcats gradually caught fire and easily beat South Florida 68-54 here Wednesday night at the Sun Dome.
The game actually was not that close. UC once led by 24 points, 66-42 with 3:26 left. USF produced a minor surge in the final minutes, far too late to make an impact.
Senior guard Kevin Johnson led UC with 14 points. Junior forward Gary Clark had 13 points, a season high 14 rebounds and four blocks. Junior forward Kyle Washington had 13 points and nine rebounds, and sophomore guard Jacob Evans scored 10 points for UC.
