As NCAA vote on basketball season nears, AAC commish Mike Aresco says league is prepared to act swiftly

Mike Aresco has learned nothing over the last six months if not how to be nimble and react swiftly.

As the NCAA’s Division I Council prepares to approve a Nov. 21 start date for all men’s and women’s basketball programs, according to reports, the AAC commissioner said the league is ready to move forward accordingly. The DI Council’s vote is scheduled for Wednesday.

“We’ll have to move fairly quickly,” he told The Commercial Appeal Monday. “But we have been working on a number of plans, so we are prepared for whatever (the NCAA) decides is appropriate.”
