Senior forward Keith Williams had both eyes on the basketball and both hands in the air ready to catch it.
With 2:18 left in the University of Cincinnati’s 77-69 loss to Xavier in the Crosstown Shootout on Sunday, the Bearcats trailed the Musketeers by 5 points. UC head coach John Brannen called a play that got Williams open on the right wing behind the three-point line, and Williams waited for the ball.
With the shot clock winding down, Williams set up for an open three that would have swung momentum in the Bearcats’ favor. It looked good but then clanked off the rim and fell away from the basket.
