White Sox's Trayce Thompson gets silent treatment after 1st HR

Trayce Thompson knew a silent dugout would meet him on Tuesday night at U.S. Cellular Field, and he soaked up the "awesome" and "funny" moment until his teammates gave in and pounced on him in celebration.

In just his second career start, Thompson hit his first major-league homer in a 3-0 victory over the Angels. That Thompson hit the fifth-inning solo shot off former Sox pitcher Hector Santiago, whom he considers a friend, made it even more memorable.

"It's something I'll remember forever, that's for sure," Thompson said. "It felt like another home run until I got to the dugout to see all those guys.
