White Sox third-base prospect Matt Davidson had surgery to insert a screw in his fractured right foot Friday, one day after he suffered the injury while running the bases in his club debut.
Davidson will have a new X-ray in two weeks, and the Sox plan to set a recovery plan then. The Sox placed him on the 15-day disabled list Friday and called up infielder Carlos Sanchez from Triple-A Charlotte to take his roster spot.
"I didn't wish any bad things to anybody, especially Matt," Sanchez said through a team interpreter.
