The Chicago White Sox and Chicago Cubs were well-represented when Major League Baseball announced its monthly award winners for August on Wednesday.
Sox first baseman Jose Abreu was named American League Player of the Month, and center fielder Luis Robert was the AL Rookie of the Month.
Abreu batted .330 in August with 11 home runs, 29 RBIs and a 1.061 OPS. He leads the league for the season in hits (46) and total bases (92), is tied for first in RBIs (32) and is tied for third in homers (12).
