DETROIT -- White Sox left fielder Jason Coats left his major league debut early Saturday after a nasty collision with teammate J.B. Shuck in the outfield at Comerica Park.
The two barreled into each other going after Miguel Cabrera' flyout to deep left-center field. Coats managed to hold onto the ball for the out despite both players tumbling backward from the collision.
Coats threw the ball back and remained down in the outfield for several minutes while the White Sox training staff checked on him. Ultimately, he left the game, bleeding from the mouth and appearing woozy.
