White Sox shortstop Tim Anderson on walk-off hit: 'I wanted that moment'

When Avisail Garcia reached second base in the ninth inning of a tie game against the Twins on Wednesday night at Guaranteed Rate Field, Tim Anderson was ready for the moment.

The White Sox shortstop may have struggled to be consistent in his second season, and he may have started his night 0-for-3, but he was itching to come through. He singled to left field, and Garcia scored when the throw to the plate missed for a 4-3 walk-off victory.

“I wanted that moment,” Anderson said. “I put the first three at-bats behind me and came up big.
