The White Sox Wednesday recalled right-handed pitcher Thyago Vieira from Triple-A Charlotte.
He replaces righty José Ruiz, who was optioned to Charlotte after Tuesday’s loss to the Astros.
The White Sox play the Red Sox in Boston tonight at 7:10.
Vieira, 26, is 3-1 with a 3.31 ERA, two saves and 19 strikeouts over 13 relief appearances with the Knights this season.
He has appeared in one game over his two stints with the White Sox in 2019, earning the win with 2.0 scoreless innings against the Orioles on May 1.
