The White Sox placed right-handed reliever Jake Petricka on the 10-day disabled list, retroactive to Sept. 5, with a right elbow strain before Thursday’s game against the Indians at Guaranteed Rate Field.
It is the third trip to the DL this season for Petricka, who missed April and May with a right lat strain and most of July with a right elbow strain.
The Sox also sent outfielder Willy Garcia on a rehab assignment to Class-A Kannapolis, the only Sox affiliate to make the playoffs this year. Garcia suffered a concussion and a fractured jaw in an outfield collision with second baseman Yoan Moncada on July 31.
