White Sox place Carlos Rodon on the 10-day injured list and reinstate Lucas Giolito

The White Sox on Thursday placed left-hander Carlos Rodon on the 10-day injured list with left elbow inflammation.

Rodon, who allowed three earned runs in 3 2/3 innings in the first game of Wednesday’s doubleheader against the Orioles, is 3-2 with a 5.19 ERA in seven starts.

Meanwhile, Lucas Giolito was reinstated from the injured list and was scheduled to start Thursday night as the White Sox begin a four-game series against the Red Sox at Guaranteed Rate Field.

Giolito is 2-1 with a 5.30 ERA in four starts. The right-hander last appeared on April 17 and exited in the third inning because of a strained left hamstring.
