White Sox pitcher Zack Burdi leads simple life away from the field

Zack Burdi has been grocery shopping once in the last six weeks.

The unfurnished apartment the White Sox pitcher shares with catcher Zack Collins is more "Beverly Hillbillies" than Beverly Hilton.

A futon, a lawn chair and two coffee tables pass as interior decorating.

"That's it," Burdi said. "That's all we got."

There's not a real plate or piece of silverware to be found.

"Plastic everything," Burdi said. "Plastic cups, plastic plates, plastic forks, plastic knives."

And one pan, which has proved to be a wasted purchase because it has sat unused for more than a month, and "maybe two dish towels.
