White Sox pitcher Danks earns small court victory in condo fall case

A negligence trial awaits White Sox pitcher John Danks after the upcoming baseball season, but a judge handed the ballplayer a small victory last week when he agreed to toss out some of the allegations against him.

Cook County Circuit Court Judge James O'Hara on Friday nixed part of the negligence claim brought against Danks in a lawsuit by a childhood friend who became paralyzed at the ballplayer's condo rental six years ago.

Still, Danks, 30, remains accused of negligence, including moving Blake Papst multiple times after he fell from a roof at Danks' River West condo in the early morning hours after a night of bar hopping.
