White Sox move back into 1st place in the AL Central with a 7-4 victory against the Royals

Jose Abreu extended his hitting streak to 18 games with a two-run double in the sixth inning Friday, and the Chicago White Sox beat the Kansas City Royals 7-4 at Kauffman Stadium.

Abreu went 2-for-5 as the Sox (24-15) moved back into first place in the American League Central. The Sox are a half-game ahead of the Cleveland Indians (23-15) and the Minnesota Twins (24-16).

The game Friday in Kansas City, Mo., featured a pitching matchup between Dane Dunning and Brady Singer, who were college teammates at Florida in 2016.

Dunning allowed three runs on five hits with four strikeouts and four walks in 4u2154 innings.
