White Sox magic number and playoff tracker: They hold the No. 4 spot in the AL playoffs and trail the Twins by 1 in the Central entering the final day

The Chicago White Sox enter the final day of the regular season with a chance to win the American League Central Division.

If they beat the Chicago Cubs in the City Series finale on Sunday and the Minnesota Twins fall to the visiting Cincinnati Reds, the Sox will win the AL Central, based on the tiebreaker — the teams tied the season series 5-5, but the Sox have the better division record.

The Cleveland Indians lost to the Pittsburgh Pirates 8-0 and fell a game behind the Sox for second place.

Record: 34-25, 2 games back in the division, one game behind the White Sox for the second-place playoff spot (but hold the tiebreaker based on their head-to-head record).
