Chicago White Sox bench coach Joe McEwing will interview for the Detroit Tigers manager vacancy. This was reported by Jason Beck. The Tigers are obviously familiar with McEwing, so it shouldn’t be a surprise they have interest. He was also a top manager prospect from his time in the minors.
This would be a big blow to the White Sox. McEwing is Rick Renteria’s right-hand man and is a great coach. He has managerial experience in the minors and has been with the organization for awhile now.

It’s almost odd to think that a coach of a 65-win team would be in consideration for a manger position.
