The White Sox traded away another member of their bullpen Friday, dealing Xavier Cedeno to the Milwaukee Brewers in exchange for a pair of pitching prospects.
Noteworthy pitching prospect Ian Hamilton was promoted from Triple-A Charlotte to take Cedeno's vacated spot on the roster.
Cedeno was signed as a minor league free agent during the offseason, though his veteran status reflected a potential desire by the White Sox front office to replicate last year's strategy of trading away solid relievers for rebuild-bolstering prospects. Prior to trading Cedeno, the White Sox also shipped Joakim Soria to the Brewers and Luis Avilan to the Philadelphia Phillies, showing a somewhat successful duplication of last year's efforts.
