The White Sox on Sunday acquired a left-handed pitcher who has accumulated impressive stats in the minors this season.

Caleb Frare has posted an 0.81 ERA and 0.94 WHIP in 32 combined relief appearances for the Yankees’ Double- and Triple-A teams. He will be assigned to Triple-A Charlotte.

The Yankees received $1.5 million in international signing money. And they would have had to put Frare on their 40-man roster after the season or risk losing him in the Rule 5 draft.

Frare, 25, has limited lefties to a.164 average this season.
