White Sox 5, Angels 4: Mad dash decides it

The White Sox gave the home crowd one more adrenaline rush to cap off the home slate of a surprisingly enjoyable 90something-loss season. The White Sox erased a two-run deficit with a three-run eighth, giving credence to the Hawk Harrelson cliche that “Ricky’s boys don’t quit.”

Rob Brantly tied the game in the eighth with a two-out, two-run homer, which somehow wasn’t the most thrilling development in the inning. That came courtesy of Tim Anderson, who followed Brantly’s blast with a single. Rymer Liriano worked a full count, allowing Anderson to be in motion on a single to left, toward the rag-armed Ben Revere.
