Well, the first two innings went fine

Before you could say Odrisamer Despaigne, the new Chicago White Sox starter had given up a couple of cheap singles to start the game, but then he cruised through the next six batters, including four strikeouts. It didn’t hurt that the New York Yankees were mostly playing their second string.

Meanwhile, José Abreu scalded one into the bullpen:

Mark it 103.5 mph. 366 feet, on a line.

The Sox ran into a little bad luck, or maybe bad hustle, in the second. After a Yoán Moncada walk, Welington Castillo hit a double that he stretched into a single, ostensibly because he hurt his back, though it looked like he hurt it while admiring his work.
