Turn off your mind, relax, and float downstream with today’s roster moves

No real surprises with today’s White Sox roster moves, but let’s count them down, anyway.

Most significantly, the club exercised its $3.5 million club option on Leury García for the 2021 season. In spite of the signing of Tim Beckham to a minor-league deal and presence of Danny Mendick on the roster, García is the most dependable and flexible utilityman on the club. And if the new manager chooses to shift Eloy Jiménez to full-time (or most-time) DH, García could be the regular left fielder next season.

As expected, the White Sox declined the contract options of Edwin Encarnación and Gio González.
