Today in White Sox History: July 30

After falling out of first place 10 days earlier, the White Sox fought back into a tie atop the American League courtesy of a 6-4 win at the Yankees; Buck Weaver (4-for-5, homer, double, five RBIs) was the hitting hero while Eddie Cicotte (win) and Jim Scott (save) piloted the win.

However, it would be a short-lived triumph, as a loss in New York the next game dropped the White Sox out of first place and just two games later the South Siders tumbled to third, where they would remain the rest of the year.
