After a rough first half brought on partly by the death of a close friend in May that affected him mentally, the White Sox shortstop has begun mashing the baseball.

Anderson went 2-for-4 with a home run and three RBIs and extended his hitting streak to seven games during the Sox’s 7-1 victory over the Astros on Wednesday night at Guaranteed Rate Field.

During the streak, Anderson is hitting .355 with four multi-hit performances.

“I’m playing like myself,” Anderson said. “Just really being more relaxed and just letting it happen. It’s not like I have to force the issue.
