SSS Cryptosoxery #13: A Final One, for the Fans

This will be the final Cryptosoxery before we take a break for the regular season. It comes just after the sad news about Eloy Jiménez’s shoulder, but torn shoulder quotes are hard to come by, so we’ll do one that has to do with baseball fandom instead.

First, though, the answer to last week’s cryptoquote, from a White Sox Hall-of-Famer baseball person much more ancient than the one who proclaims that about himself:

I never resorted to the spitter until I was obliged to. I nearly ruined my arm throwing curves. — Red Faber

Perfectly logical explanation from Faber, and perfectly legal activity as well — he was the last American League pitcher to toss the spitter before it was banned.
