Shaking off the rust: Tim Anderson and Eloy Jimenez both hit first home runs since coming back from injuries

Eloy Jimenez and Tim Anderson returned from injuries within two days of each other and both showed signs of rust when they first returned.

In Sunday’s 10-5 win against the Phillies, both hit their first home runs since coming back. After a sluggish few games, both Anderson and Jimenez are on four-game hitting streaks.

Jimenez missed 11 games in July after colliding with Charlie Tilson in the outfield in Kansas City on July 16. He returned on July 28 against the Twins and went 0-for-12 with seven strikeouts in his first three games back. Jimenez entered Sunday’s game with hits in three straight and blasted a three-run homer in the eighth inning to put the game out of reach for the Phillies.
