Rodón, Bummer: Reinforcements on the way

In a move hinted at last night in our Six Pack, the White Sox activated both Aaron Bummer and Carlos Rodón from the 45-day IL on Thursday. Bummer will immediately slate into the bullpen. Rodón likely heads there two, given he hasn’t stretched out beyond 60 pitches in Schaumburg.

To make room, both Ross Detwiler and Steve Cishek were designated for assignment. The season is effectively over, so it seems no team will be claiming either pitcher, but the White Sox don’t want either anymore, anyway. Detwiler was on a nothing deal and Cishek will have his 2021 option refused by the White Sox after a horrible season in which he couldn’t even master mop-up duty.
