José Abreu hit for the cycle and the White Sox crushed six homers behind James Shields’ brilliant pitching as The Good Guys defeated the Giants, 13–1, in the middle game of the three-game series at Guaranteed Rate Field.
Abreu is the sixth Sox player to complete the cycle and finished it off with a triple (click on link below). He is the first Sox player to accomplish the feat since Jose Valentin did it on April 27, 2000. Others who did it: Chris Singleton (1999), Hall of Famer Carlton Fisk (1984), Jack Brohamer (1977) and HOF Ray Schalk (1922).
