Mike Pelfrey figures Geovany Soto is the perfect catcher to help him through his introduction to the White Sox.
After all, Pelfrey never had much luck getting Soto out when he was his opponent. Soto has gone 6-for-11 with a double, a homer, a walk and five RBIs in 13 plate appearances against the veteran right-hander in his career.
Soto walked Pelfrey through his first Sox start on Saturday, and Pelfrey said he has helped to make the transition to his fourth major-league clubhouse in 12 seasons a little easier.
"Everything I'm throwing, he knows exactly what it does, and it always seems to find his barrel," Pelfrey said.
