Michael Jordan was ‘very generous’ to his baseball teammates — while taking his spot in the White Sox organization seriously: ‘We worked 7 days per week’

“It was a great spring,” the former Sox outfielder said Thursday during a conference call. “Think about how many times you go to a spring training for Major League Baseball and you have Ted Koppel and ‘Nightline’ showing up to ask questions about a teammate of yours.

Months after winning his third straight championship with the Bulls, Jordan retired from basketball in 1993 and turned to baseball, one of the favorite sports of his father, James, who was murdered in July 1993.

Jordan spent 1994 with the Sox Double-A affiliate in Birmingham, Ala., before returning to the Bulls in March 1995.
