Meet Zack Collins: Getting to Know the Newest White Sox in 10 Steps

By Art Berke

1. Zack Collins, the newest White Sox and former u21161 draft pick, was called up from Class AAA Charlotte on Tuesday. Seeing playing time at first base and DH as well as his natural catching position, the left-handed hitting Collins was batting .250/.374/.482 with nine home runs, 39 RBI, 33 runs scored and 36 walks in 50 games with the Knights.

2. Sporting u211638, the 6-foot-3, 220-pound South Florida native made his big-league debut vs. the Cubs on Wednesday and walked — which seems fitting. Baseball America chose him as having the best strike zone discipline in the White Sox organization, in 2018 with Class AA Birmingham he led the Southern League and was second in all of minor-league baseball with 101 walks and he led the NCAA in that category (78) in his final collegiate season.
