Lucas Giolito dazzles in his first career complete game in a 4-1 abridged Sox win

Lucas Giolito picked up where he left off on Mother’s Day. With a game cut short due to rain, Giolito picks up his first career complete game as the Sox pick up win No. 21. Gio went five full innings, allowed three hits, gave up one run, and struck out four.

His teammates backed him up right out of the gate. Leury García led the offense off with a leadoff home run off of Ryan Feierabend.

In the second inning, Toronto evened the score with an RBI groundout by Brandon Drury that scored Rowdy Tellez, who reached base on a check-swing base hit to the vacant right side of the infield.
