Liam and Kristi Hendriks donate lunches to Chicago firefighters: ‘We just want to thank you and your families’ the new White Sox closer says

The Chicago White Sox closer and his wife on Thursday donated meals from local businesses to some of the city’s first responders.

Firefighters at Engine Co. 29 received lunch from Taco E. The couple is treating all three platoons from Engine 29 with lunch this week from Ajo and Nana restaurants, according to a news release from the Sox.

”We just want to thank you and your families and can’t wait to see you at a game soon,” Liam Hendriks said in a video message to the firefighters.

The Sox and Hendriks agreed to a four-year, $54 million deal, the team announced Jan.
