Lance Lynn hasn’t allowed a run this spring. Still, the Chicago White Sox pitcher would like to be more efficient: ‘Got to stop going so deep into counts and walking guys’

GLENDALE, ARIZ. — Lance Lynn walked Matt Chapman to begin the fourth inning against the Oakland Athletics on Sunday at Hohokam Stadium.

The Chicago White Sox starter wanted to go out on a positive note. And he did, exiting after striking out the next batter, Mitch Moreland.

Lynn allowed one hit and struck out three in 3u2153 scoreless innings against the A’s. He returns to the mound Friday evening against the Seattle Mariners in Peoria, Ariz. It will be Lynn’s fourth start this spring.

“He’s such a competitor,” Sox manager Tony La Russa said Monday. “He knows if he makes a pitch he’s got a chance for the out.
